2nd Braintree and Bocking Air Scout Group

District and Group Jubilee Camp – 16-17 June

On the weekend of 16-17 June Braintree district is having a camp at Honeywood School, Coggeshall. This is open to all groups in the district and all sections within groups. 2nd Braintree Air Scout Group will therefore be attending and all sections are welcome.

AGM 2012: June 22nd at 7.30pm

The 2nd Braintree and Bocking Air Scout Group Annual General Meeting will take place on June 22nd at 7.30pm

We will aim to keep this meeting as brief as possible as we know parents are busy. We request that each family sends along a member to the meeting.

The group is in need of members for the Executive Committee. This is the vital unseen part of the group that supports the leaders but helping ensure all the administration is done and that we have insurance finance and fund raising etc. We have aimed to keep the number of meeting to a minimum by communicating over E-mail

Chocks Away III – The Rescheduled Camp

Here are the details of the the revised date for the 3rd Chocks Away Gliding camp. Can all Scouts confirm their place and return payments by Sunday May 13th please. For those attending the previous camp a new permission form is required to confirm your attendance.

Note this camp is now open to Scouts just wishing to camp.

Beavers: Change of plan for Friday 11th

Beavers for May 11th will now be at Tabor. We were going to the discovery centre but the ground is too wet.

Beavers joint hike with 4th Braintree

Gliding camp delayed. Friday Night Scouts On. St Georges Parade on Sunday

The gliding club got in touch tonight and suggested delaying the gliding camp due to expected poor weather this weekend. It is now rearranged for Fri, 25 May, 20:00. If anyone new wants to join please let Jon know 2 weeks before the event.

With Gliding camp off. Scouts is now back on this week. Normal 8pm start.

Also all Scouts are asked to make an effort to attend the St Georges day parade. We are meeting 2pm at Causeway house on Sunday 22 April

Chocks Away III – The Return of Gliding – Updated update!

Because we have 12 Scouts interested in the gliding the gliding club wanted to spread the gliding over two days still. Skip is not available but Dave and I are happy to camp subject to people still wanting to attend.
I will attempt to contact everyone sunday and confirm the start time.
The camp will run as previously announced.

There will be no Scouts on the Friday Night

Note this camp is now rescheduled for the 25th May

This is not enough to justify camping so I will talk to the Gliding club and look to see if we can arrange to try and get gliding for these people on one day over that weekend.

Cub/Scout Hike 30/3/12

Cubs and Scouts will be meeting in the lower car park near the start of the Flitch Way at Braintree Station at 6.30 on 30/3/12

Cubs will need picking up at Rayne Station at 7.45

Scouts will need picking up at Tabor at 9.30.

Cubs and Scouts should wear suitable clothes for hiking. Preferably with hike boots. A small bag with waist straps should be brought with waterproofs and a drink bottle. For scouts this bag should be their normal daysack and contents.

All Scouts need to bring this Permission form.
