Exec Meeting – Parents needed!

Each Scout group has an Exec committee which helps deal with the admin side of the group. Leader are not supposed to be on the Exec although they are welcome to attend. Our group would really benefit from having a few more parents on the Exec committee. Parents provide valuable opinions and ideally we have at least one person for each section. We would like more than this however so there is a balanced representation of views. We plan to hold an Exec meeting on May 1st between 8 and 10. If you are interested in coming along please get in touch with Jon. Your help would be appreciated and it doesn’t mean you have to take a role in the group. Easyfundraising

Thanks again to all the people that have used the group’s Easyfundraising link over the last 3 months. This has raised £16.67 for our group. We have never managed to raise enough money to get a cheque issued in consecutive quarters so this was particularly well done. Online Scout Manager

There is a new piece of software to help Leaders run their sections more easily. It is called Online Scout Manager The software has benefits for parents in that you can register an email and see your young persons badge records (assuming the section is keeping them on the system) We have only had the software for about a fortnight but I believe all leaders think it will be useful and are going to be using it. To ensure that you have access to the manager please can you send jon@2ndbraintree.com an email with the name of any young people you have in the group. This is a preview of Online Scout Manager. Your Group Needs Help!

Thanks to the parents that attended the AGM on Friday. Unfortunately we were unable to fill certain key roles within the group. The Exec committee is there to provide support to the leaders so that there is suitable insurance, premises and adequate funds for the leaders. Without the being the scenes work the group would not be able to achieve what it does. Being on the Exec committee in general does not require much commitment. Over the last few years were have made as many decisions as possible via Email so actual meetings have been limited to where there is something important to discuss. This is a preview of Your Group Needs Help!. Read the full post (183 words, estimated 44 secs reading time) … Read entire article »
