People have continued to have problems with Spreadsheet printing so we are now putting up forms in Adobe Reader (pdf) format. If you still have problems please let Jon Hinchliffe know.

      1. Easter Activity Permission form
      2. Beaver Outings - Information

    Thursday 11th February 2010

    1. Our Meeting Hall is unavailable next Friday 12th February. At short notice Bridie has been able to arrange with Fr.Philip for the Beaver Group to meet at St.Mary the Virgin Church of England, Bocking, (at the foot of the hill, off Church Street).

The Beavers will need to arrive in full uniform if possible at 5.00p.m., and their parents will need to collect them at no later than 6.15p.m. The parents are welcome to stay if they wish.

Father will start at 5pm with a short talk about the church, and show them items used for church service, and the reasons for their use.  He will then show them interesting things within the historical building.

Hand bell ringers will arrive at 5.45p.m. to demonstrate their music to the Beavers. We are in the process of contacting them individually to see if it is possible.  (This will all go towards a Faith and Music badge).

All Beavers will be very respectful in church, and remember to thank Father Philip and the bell ringers (Monica Cooke is the church warden) before leaving.  They have been very kind to give up their time for the young people at such short notice, and are looking forward to meeting them.

I will be arranging future visits to the church, for the last Friday before we break up at Easter, and in May/June to climb The Tower!

All attendees will need to have this permission slip signed.

    1. Happy New Year to everyone. Given the amount of snow around and the expected cold freeze it has been decided all sections will start up again on 15th Jan 10. We look forward to seeing everyone again.

    Friday 4th December 2009

    1. There are rumours of young people being approached by strangers. I would like our Scout group meetings to continue to be a place of fun and safety so I would like to request young people and parents are extra vigilant and follow all the normal safety advice. Especially advice about walking in groups of 2 or more.

    1. Children In Need -
We are taking a role in Children in Need on Friday.

We will draw a Pudsey for all to fill in from Beavers, Cubs and Scouts with their loose change, and send it off to the BBC appeal this Friday night.

For £1.00 a go, we also have a Pudsey Pose Competition.  Choose a pose on the poster that will be displayed and write your name on it.  The correct pose can be revealed at Scout night and box of chocolates given as a prize to the winner.

The material for this event is from the Fundraising Pack from the BBC.

    1. Thanks to Abigail Silvey the group now has a Beaver colony again.

    Friday 12th December 2008

    1. Sadly as of 13th December 2008 our Beaver Colony is closed. We would love to reopen it but it requires someone aged 21 or over to be a leader. They can be part time or full time as long as we have someone coordinating meetings and acting as the focal point. If two people wanted to run the section alternate weeks that would be fantastic.

I would like to thank Lynne Culham for all her efforts as leader in her two stints as Beaver Leader for the group.

      Lynne's goodbye letter

Please contact Jon Hinchliffe on 01376 346198 for any advice or information.
