Our Meeting Hall is unavailable next Friday 12th
February. At short notice Bridie has been able to
arrange with Fr.Philip for the Beaver Group to meet at
St.Mary the Virgin Church of England, Bocking, (at
the foot of the hill, off Church Street).
The Beavers will need to arrive in full uniform if
possible at 5.00p.m., and their parents will need to
collect them at no later than 6.15p.m. The parents are
welcome to stay if they wish.
Father will start at 5pm with a short talk about the
church, and show them items used for church service, and
the reasons for their use. He will then show them
interesting things within the historical building.
Hand bell ringers will arrive at 5.45p.m. to demonstrate
their music to the Beavers. We are in the process of
contacting them individually to see if it is possible.
(This will all go towards a Faith and Music badge).
All Beavers will be very respectful in church, and
remember to thank Father Philip and the bell ringers
(Monica Cooke is the church warden) before leaving.
They have been very kind to give up their time for the
young people at such short notice, and are looking
forward to meeting them.
I will be arranging future visits to the church, for the
last Friday before we break up at Easter, and in
May/June to climb The Tower!
